Chris Dede's Reflections

Chris Dede
Harvard University

Biography

"Reading through the posters and interacting with conference participants has inspired me with the many types of innovations occurring across the country. It takes a lot of courage to push forward with deep inquiry learning at a time when so much educational "reform" is targeted to low-level content and skills, measured by low-level high-stakes tests. In recent testimony before Congress, I discussed why this type of innovation is so important and how the federal government could alter its policies to empower what you are doing. If you are interested, that testimony is at:

Of course, the really powerful testimony is the teachers, students, and districts with whom you are working. We need to all find creative ways to tell those stories to a broad audience."
