There is no standardized testing in science in the KITES districts.

The kit-based performance assessments have been used by teachers as a way to talk together (at and across grade levels) about what and how students are learning. With the use of "descriptive review" and other protocols, teachers analyze student responses to performance tasks and reflect on the meaning of the data--as it relates to their practice (instruction, learning environment, etc.).

We're at a point where we can and should look systematically at student outcomes--compare students in KITES classrooms those who are not.
