Hi Judi,

Nice job - I appreciate your candour and willing ness to reflect on wins and losses. Is humanistic math the same as standards based math or inquiry oriented math? As a former history teacher I sense these terms are being used synonomously are they? You list some negative results of administrative losses ( or gains depending on the person), why do you include a systems collaborative culture in this list? - it seems incongruous because the change literature advocates such a culture. I'm also interested in your statement that some jurisdictions had moved far enough to continue on their own. Maybe this is the secret - get people started and then low key the initiative. I've found high profile initiatives tend to get shot down but changes that capture teachers interest have a chance to last administrative turnover. I'd be interested in your experience. Maybe low key, low profile does the job.
