Nice job Linda!

I like the idea of having various curriculum staff interviewing for principals. This is a very good idea.

In struggling with some of my most recent concerns, I went back to the Danforth Principal Training Program at the UW I participated in about 12 years ago. After some conversation, I asked if some of my group could come and share about the urgency of good science instruction for all K-12 students. Last Saturday four of us went to the Reflective Seminar for Superintendents in training. I spoke for elementary, the Project Director for our middle school LSC came as did the high school outreach from the UW (he is working on getting a high school LSC for five districts.) We also brought our SRT who has developed and teaches the Expository Writing and Science Notebook Classes. These sups in training were very interested.

The leader of this class wants us to come back in the fall to spend a whole day with the Danforth Principals in training. So often, we hear that the current principals do not have time for us. So, we can get them up front this way.

Also, these superintendents kept asking how will we loop back into the College of Ed at the UW, so that all levels of educators in training will get this up front. I think we have made an important connection here. I want to capitalize on it in the future.
