A greater emphasis on studying student learning outcomes could help you move to the next level in terms of teacher buy-in and educational gains. What types of advances are students making and why? This need not be limited to test scores -- the article I wrote in the "Resources" section describes a variety of measures for "success." Documenting what you are accomplishing in learning outcomes seems the most important focus now.
