You might have approached the science education faculty to see if someone would partner with you, even if only in a low-level role of sponsoring professional development credit. Now, you are probably facing a "not invented here" mentality that, while not very professional, is all too typical of academic life. Could you build bridges by finding a way to involve preservice teachers and form partnerships with the teacher education program in that manner?
