Good questions, Jeanne. Under NSF we had 30 school districts and about 1,800 teachers participating. As of this month, we have 33 school districts and 3 alternative schools participating as members based on one of the membership options for the 2001/02 school year. Our task now is to provide the services that school districts have bought. We're rapidly becoming a business. ASSET Inc. is an independent, non-profit organization based in Pittsburgh that provides direct services to Allegheny County districts and leadership and indirect services to 35 school districts in surrounding counties. The money comes to us. The process seems to be working. We could not have done it without our partners, including the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, Bayer and the universities. This coming year will be the real test, in that we hope more districts sign up for the comprehensive memberships next year. Pittsburgh is blessed with wonderful private foundations, who have also helped tremendously in this process: Grable, Heinz Endowments, Buhl, and RK Mellon in particular. They want to ensure our viability and survival. It's been tough, but once we get beyond next year, we should be well established.
Thanks for the interest. Should we be looking at EDC or other organizations to help us figure this out?
