Anita,
How nice to hear from you, and sorry I'm so late in replying. I'll send you a packet of materials to give you a better sense of our products and services - now available at member and non-member rates.
However, for this posting, let me explain that a course is a one-day session on a module, an instructional strategy, assessment, or an introduction to inquiry; an institute is a 2-5 day session linked to specific modules or a theme that is co-facilitated by a teacher, a university scientist or content expert or it is an Institute for Inquiry for teachers, professional developers, or administrators (we learned all this from the Institute for Inquiry at the Exploratorium and are just gutsy enough to try it, but people love them); colloquia are the informal professional development that is facilitated by a resource teacher who coaches, mentors, demonstrates, or facilitates study groups. You'll see this explained better in the PD Catalog that I'll send.
We're offering 20 courses and institutes this summer and they're filling up. We're thrilled - it is just what we wanted to do. Regards to you and your colleagues.
Reeny
