One of your initial goals included the development of a "critical mass" of teachers who understand and support the mathematics standards. Then, you go on to talk about the large turnover in teachers, and in administrators. You are not alone in your interest in achieving "critical mass" nor are your challenges unique.

Given the realities of teacher turnover, I wonder if the notion of critical mass has meaning as far as sustainability goes. What did you mean by critical mass? I'd be interested to hear others' views also on whether this is a useful concept, or whether it might be a myth that we all cling to.
