We knew there is a disparity. Much of the focus of the Reaching Every Teacher program was spent in cross grade-level discussions. We feel that is one reason that the elementary teachers progress as far as they did. Part of the difficulty in sustainability is facilitating that discussion after funding ends.

The reality is that our central administration still supports the concept of k-12 discussions, but there is a crisis in substitutes and only so many hours after school. Getting teachers together to talk and share is nearly impossible.

Hindsight is 20-20. Were any of us really prepared for Tom Apostle?
